Imagine Nature Coloring Book

Imagine Nature, a coloring and activity book, features poetry by Lauren Camp, New Mexico State Poet Laureate (2022 to 2025).

Lauren worked with a committee of educators from around the state to develop this project for young New Mexicans. The 60-page coloring books were built around five of her poems, along with prompts she wrote to inspire school-age writers. Artwork was commissioned to go with each of the poems.

More than 30,000 copies were printed and distributed for free at museums, historic sites, public libraries, and the Governor’s Office. In addition, large scale “community coloring boards” were given to libraries, with a blown-up image from the coloring book for the community to color together.

This amazing project was a collaboration with many entities in New Mexico Department of Cultural Affairs, especially New Mexico Arts and the New Mexico State Library.
