If you haven’t heard my crowing about my new book, The Dailiness…
…let me tell you I am still intrigued and satisfied with every inch of it, every word and the way they go together. And better still, I love the reviews that have been coming in. One reviewer states, “Like the best poetry, it merits close attention for its scope, complexity and amplitude…Lauren Camp offers the reader spiritual food at a troubled cultural moment. Accept it.”
This is what a writer writes for… her audience. To be heard. To make others feel.
Even better is the chance to read to an audience — with every kind of music imaginable. And I’ll be doing just that this coming Saturday.
Please join me, multi-instrumentalist Char Rothschild (of Round Mountain) and bassist Paul Brown for a sonic launch for the new book. These two musicians will be interpreting my poems in unexpected, glorious tones and sounds.
Here are the specifics:
When: Saturday, February 1, 2014, 4pm
Where: Teatro Paraguas, 3205 Calle Marie in Santa Fe
The event is free (donations requested for performers).
Both of my books will be available and I will be glad to scrawl a message in them for you.
